Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Write press releases, news stories, articles, case studies and product pieces Communicate press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online, to interest them in our clients stories and news Respond to phone calls and emails from journalists Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients spokespeople in person or over the phone and facilitate these meetings where appropriate Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients Attend client events and industry conferences Work with clients on content and execution of their social media profiles to enhance and amplify their content and news Generate and deliver analytics reports on media coverage for clients and competitors, social media impact, website traffic, engagement and other quantitative impacts of communications activities Brainstorm and develop cut-through ideas for communications campaigns and execution Write newsworthy opinion pieces/by liners for technology publications and meet client deadlines Excellent written communication skills essential Leadership, Teamwork and Personal Skills Must be a confident communicator and presenter Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with attention to detail Possess the ability to keep information confidential Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms Ability to work in time sensitive environments and under deadline pressure A wide degree of creativity and latitude Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management Strong teamwork skills Desirable: understanding of the Australian technology landscape (e.g., cloud, service provider markets, networking infrastructure, IT security) Education Bachelors degree or equivalent in Marketing, Commerce, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or Communications. Past Experience Past experience in technology, journalism, sales, internal/external communications/digital or marketing highly desirable. The role will involve working with several of the firms technology clients in an assistant account director role or account director capacity.
