Position Summary This position leads the Quality Department and elevates high reliability in clinical performance through assessment of performance, prioritization of improvement activities, and oversight of performanceimprovement projects. The role is responsible for ensuring successful clinical project implementation at operating entities, collaborating with senior leadership to prioritize resources and aligning performanceimprovement opportunities with system and local teams. Core Functions 1. Quality Leadership and Integration Lead the integration of quality throughout the organization to achieve CMS, The Joint Commission standards and annual initiatives. Direct and support the quality infrastructure, protect confidential data, engage interprofessional teamwork, promote continuous learning and develop annual quality plans in partnership with service line leaders. 2. Performance and Process Improvement Serve as a subjectmatter expert in performance and process improvement, project management and changemanagement methods. Coach and oversee facilitation of improvement activities related to patient safety, risk reduction, clinical performance, peer review and regulatory compliance, guiding teams on systemdefined improvement methodologies. 3. Population Health and Care Transitions Direct evaluation and improvement of healthcare processes and transitions to advance safety and effectiveness for defined populations. Lead implementation of evidencebased clinical practices, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and report on facility Clinical Practice performance. 4. Health Data Analytics Leverage the organizations analytic environment to guide datadriven decision making. Oversee data acquisition from internal and external sources, conduct quantitative analysis, and provide oversight of ongoing performance assessment. 5. Patient Safety Cultivate a safe environment by promoting safe practices, building a Just Culture, and improving processes that detect and mitigate harm. Champion safety culture, analyze safety risks, and coach leaders on safetyimprovement activities. 6. Regulatory and Accreditation Direct evaluation, monitoring and improvement of compliance with internal and external requirements. Prepare for regulatory audits, support continuous survey readiness and oversee postsurvey followup. 7. Quality Review and Accountability Serve as expertise in voluntary, mandatory and contractual reporting requirements for data acquisition, analysis and reporting. Support emerging payment models and practitioner/nursing peer reviews. 8. Professional Engagement Engage in the healthcare quality profession, advancing competencies, ethical practice, and lifelong learning. Participate in professional organizations and attain certifications in healthcare quality. 9. CrossFunctional Responsibilities Oversee inquiries from internal and external customers, manage department budget, and lead QI initiatives at single or multiple entities, contributing to systemlevel QI activities. Minimum Qualifications Masters degree or current enrollment with anticipated graduation within one year of hire, OR equivalent experience. Five years of acutecare clinical experience, with at least two years of management or demonstrated leadership through largescale projects. Proficiency in complex statistical analysis, advanced problemsolving, program and project management, and exemplary interpersonal and written communication skills. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional Patient Safety (CPPS) certification within three months of hire; for those hired prior to June12025, certification must be obtained within one year. For roles in behavioral health facilities serving children, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and a signed Arizona Criminal History Affidavit are required at hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications Registered Nursing (RN) license preferred. Experience with process improvement, regulatory/accreditation programs, data management and analysis, graphic development, and presentation skills.
