Key Non-Executive Director Role at Women in Technology (WiT) Voluntary Are you a visionary financial leader with a passion for empowering women in STEM? You can translate your expertise into tangible, positive change by joining our passionate and forwardthinking Board as a NonExecutive Director, bringing critical financial acumen and strategic foresight to WiT. Key Requirements Formal accounting qualifications (e.g., CA, CPA, or equivalent). Proven, handson experience in developing and implementing strategic lead indicators for performance management and future forecasting. Key Responsibilities Shape Strategy Actively contribute to and influence WiTs overarching strategic direction, ensuring longterm sustainability and impactful growth. Command Financial Stewardship Provide robust financial oversight, safeguarding the organizations financial health, and ensuring transparent, insightful reporting. Champion Governance Take a leading role on the Audit and Risk Committee, embedding strong corporate governance, compliance, and proactive riskmanagement frameworks. Drive Performance Utilize expertise in lead indicators to help WiT anticipate trends, measure success effectively, and make datadriven strategic decisions. Deliver Impact Oversee organizational performance to ensure more than meeting strategic objectives and operational outcomes, amplifying support for women in technology. The Ideal Candidate Significant seniorlevel experience in strategic finance and/or accountancy roles, showcasing broad business acumen and a visionary approach. Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, especially as they apply to Audit and Risk Committee functions. A genuine passion for, or background in, the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) sectors. Highly regarded: previous experience as a NonExecutive Director, Treasurer, or member of a Funding or Audit and Risk Committee; experience with notforprofit finances, particularly for events or membership models, is a plus. Commitment & Expectations This rewarding voluntary role requires an estimated commitment of 1012 hours per month, including preparation for and attendance at board meetings (virtual or inperson), participation in Audit and Risk Committee meetings, and proactive engagement in strategic discussions. You will provide the Board with monthly financial reporting, lead annual audit activities, and ensure adequate financial processes for Board oversight.
