Counsellor - Community & Mental Health Services Location: Tennant Creek, NTJob Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm)Contract: Until 2026 Accommodation: $195 per week + 4 weeks bond (includes electricity and furniture). Own accommodation. Salary: $101,791 plus superannuation packaging option up to $15,900 per annum, six weeks annual leave (plus leave loading) + two weeks of personal leave About the Organisation This respected notforprofit delivers a wide range of social and community services throughout the Northern Territory. The Role This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Counsellor to provide responsive, therapeutic support to individuals, couples and families in Tennant Creek. You''ll deliver traumainformed, evidencebased counselling and group programs that empower people to overcome challenges and build stronger, healthier relationships. Key responsibilities include: Providing individual counselling to adults, children and families using bestpractice therapeutic approaches Delivering group programs designed to strengthen relationships, enhance emotional wellbeing, and reduce risk Supporting clients to improve communication, resilience, parenting and decisionmaking skills Applying traumainformed, childcentred methodologies including playbased therapy Maintaining professional, accurate records, and contributing to service evaluation and continuous improvement Building and maintaining strong partnerships with local stakeholders such as schools and community organisations Participating in regular clinical supervision, team reflection and case review sessions What We''re Looking For To succeed in this role, you''ll bring: A relevant qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work (essential) Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body such as PACFA, AASW, or ACA Demonstrated experience in delivering counselling services across a range of age groups, including children Confidence using evidencebased therapeutic models, including family therapy and traumainformed care Experience facilitating group programs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work sensitively in crosscultural settings A commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and safeguarding children Additional requirements: Current NT Driver Licence and Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance) Ability to pass a satisfactory National Police Check Compliance with COVID19 vaccination requirements Willingness to work occasional afterhours sessions (timeinlieu provided) What''s On Offer A meaningful role with a leading notforprofit organisation Access to generous salary packaging benefits and professional development support Remote travel allowance and relocation assistance (if applicable) A supportive team environment focused on learning, inclusion and client outcomes The opportunity to make a lasting impact in Tennant Creek, a vibrant regional town rich in culture and community spirit.
