OverviewFinance Officer - Temporary role at The Hills Shire Council (Careers at Council). Location: Baulkham Hills, New South Wales. Temporary Full-time up to 12 months. This position supports the Revenue & Expenditure team with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities on a rotation basis.ResponsibilitiesPerform accounts payable activities maintain records, invoice/payments, and reconcile supplier statementsPrepare daily banking, receipts and reconcile cheques and depositsPerform accounts receivable activities invoice and reconcile accounts, debt collectionPerform payroll activities upload/process data, file updates, maintain, reconcile and reportRespond to/follow up on payroll, accounts payable/debtor enquiries and file/maintain documentationMaintain petty cash float, cash handling and transfer of electronic fundsAssist in the preparation of daily bank reconciliationsQualificationsDegree in AccountingCPA qualified or currently undertaking CPA studiesExperience in the use of computerised accounting and payroll systemsSound knowledge of accounting, payroll and debt recovery principles and practicesHigh attention to detail and accuracy and a team playerCompetent written and oral communication and strong customer service skillsBenefitsCompetitive rates starting from $85,757 per annum plus superannuation (paid weekly)Access to Active Social Club, Additional Leave, Waves Aquatic Centre discounts, Fitness Passport, onsite undercover parking and an onsite CafNext Steps / How to ApplyPlease review the Position Description available on Councils Careers Page and submit your application online by 5pm on 10 September 2025.
