Company Description Are you ready to take on a strategic leadership role in one of Australias leading specialist and emergency veterinary hospitals? In this newly created role ARH Canberra is seeking a Hospital Coordinator. This innovative and high-impact position reports directly to senior hospital management and plays a critical role in driving hospital-wide success. Youll be responsible for managing our support staff teams, shaping care delivery, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for patients and staff alike. Your Role as Hospital Coordinator This new role in our hospital team will hold overall responsibility and authority for the Animal Attendant and Hospital Support Staff cohorts across the hospital. This role provides frontline leadership, oversight of hospital flow, and acts as the central point for daily operational problemsolving. It is central to ensuring the hospital runs safely, smoothly, and consistently while supporting clinicians and nurses to focus on clinical care. Key Responsibilities In This Role Hospital Operations & Workflow Oversee daily hospital flow, including patient movement, admissions, discharges, and general treatment coordination. Ensure the hospital is clean, organised, stocked, and operating efficiently across all clinical and nonclinical areas. Identify bottlenecks, allocate support staff, and manage ontheday adjustments to maintain smooth operations. Provide realtime support during peak periods, emergencies, or unexpected surges. Leadership & Staff Coordination Provide daytoday direction and support to Animal Attendants, hospital support roles, and junior staff. Build a collaborative and positive team culture across hospital operations. Deliver onboarding, induction, and competency checklists for support staff. Coordinate rosters for AAs and nonclinical support teams. Support the Nursing Manager by ensuring clinical staff have the resources, workflow, and environment needed to deliver care. Client Experience & Operational Support Assist with managing client expectations during busy periods, delays, or complex cases. Provide clear, professional updates to clients when required. Support reception and clinical staff by addressing service bottlenecks that impact client flow. Assist with daily inventory oversight. Support the Hospital Manager with small operational projects, efficiencies, or site improvements. About You Youre a confident, collaborative leader with a strong background in clinical and team management. You thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about delivering consistent, highquality care. Veterinary nursing qualifications or similar. Experience in hospital leadership, ward coordination, or team supervision. Exposure to emergency/critical care environments desirable. Strong organisational, coordination, and problemsolving skills. Ability to lead small teams and give clear instructions. High emotional intelligence, calm under pressure, and able to manage competing priorities. Excellent communication with staff, clients, and clinicians. Ability to perform physical aspects of hospital operations (lifting, cleaning, patient support).
