Ironstone Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our site-based team on a 2:1 day shift roster. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving project delivery, maintaining schedule alignment, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively, with a strong background in construction. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver impactful outcomes across a range of NPI (Non-Process Infrastructure) projects in the mining construction sector. Key Responsibilities Foster and promote a positive health and safety culture across all activities. Ensure works are executed safely, in line with company and client standards, and in accordance with relevant permits, JHAs, Take 5s, CRAW workshops, and HAZOPs. Lead the procurement process, including registers, material and equipment delivery, and management of site office facilities. Oversee earthworks, concrete, minor electrical and mechanical installations, and coordinate subcontractor activities. Ensure plant and equipment are compliant and approved by client inspectors. Prepare and manage work packs for all work groups. Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and implement mitigation strategies where required. Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals. Implement project controls including specifications, schedules, budgets, and forecasts, with daily reporting. Ensure project deliverables meet client requirements, engineering standards, and quality expectations. Identify risks, issues, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Manage contract administration, including variations, extensions of time, and other contractual entitlements. Compile and maintain ITPs, ITRs, MDRs, and all associated quality documentation. Schedule and manage hold points, inspections, and client services to meet project milestones. About You Proven experience in a Senior Project Engineer role on FIFO NPI projects. Extensive experience managing capital projects in mining or heavy industrial environments. Strong understanding of mining construction, infrastructure delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while leading teams effectively. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. A strong commitment to health, safety, and highquality project outcomes.
