About The Role Reporting to our General Manager Enterprise Technology & Architecture, join our team at Ventia as a Data Architect. In this role you will deliver scalable, high quality and fit for purpose data solutions using your demonstrated experience in data architecture, enterprise platform design and governance. As an expert in Master Data Governance SAP and Databricks with the ability to communicate technical subject matter to a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, you will work collaboratively with our Data and AI, Cyber Security, Project Delivery and work hiring teams to enable client focused solutions that drive business optimisation. Key Accountabilities Define and maintain enterprise data architecture, leading the creation and ongoing refinement of architecture ensuring alignment with business strategy DMBOK2 principles, governance frameworks, regulatory and security requirements. Establish and oversee data governance building and embed governance capabilities, data ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage and quality frameworks to ensure data is compliant, trusted and well managed across the organisation. Design scalable interoperable data solutions, providing leadership across programs to ensure all data solutions are cost effective, maintainable and aligned with enterprise architectures. Uphold enterprise data standards and modelling practices for metadata, naming, lineage and integration developing conceptual, logical physical models and analytics ready aligned to reporting needs. Balance performance, cost, security and sustainability through reusable patterns, automation, standardisation and architecture decisions that accelerate delivery while maintaining compliance and quality. About You Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or relevant industry experience. Well developed experience designing enterprise architectures, governance frameworks and target-state data models across Azure, AWS and SAP. Modern Data Platform and engineering proficiency skilled in Lakehouse, Synapse, Snowflake, Fabric, ETL/ELT pipelines, CI/CD, and large scale data operations. Advanced Data Modelling capability proficient in dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, Dat Vault and medallion Architecture. Hands on technical tools and development skills with practical experience with Databricks, ADF, SAP HANA/BW/BDC, SQL, Python, and Power Bi. Demonstrated track record in defining data strategy, enforcing data policies and partnering with business stakeholders. Ability to align architecture with business goals and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and scalability.
