Senior Software Engineer (Video) KICK Join the fastgrowing live streaming platform KICK as a Senior Software Engineer focused on video streaming and ad insertion. About Kick KICK is one of the worlds fastestgrowing live streaming platforms. We build a global ad platform from the ground up, delivering cuttingedge viewer experiences. This role is a pivotal moment in our journey, as we experienced over 1.1billion hours watched last quarter. Key Responsibilities Serve as a subjectmatter expert, collaborating with engineering, product and operations to diagnose and resolve complex videorelated issues. Architect, develop and deploy a robust ServerSide Ad Insertion system for live and VOD platforms, ensuring seamless ad delivery and a highquality viewer experience. Analyse and address video playback challenges such as startup latency and rebuffering, implementing solutions that improve quality of experience. Contribute to the design and evolution of our streaming architecture, from encoding and packaging to CDN integrations and playback logic. Handson coding, testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure code quality, scalability and maintainability. Lead and independently complete mediumsized projects or components from start to finish. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. 7+ years of handson experience in video streaming software engineering, focusing on scalable system design and development. Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks relevant to the role (Go, PHP, React, etc.). Strong understanding of code architecture and design principles. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications / Experiences Experience managing ad servers. Experience leading a support bridge in livescale events. Experience leading Incident Operations.
