From Tap to Pay on mobile devices to quick payment links and donations, Pebl powers fast, effortless payments.About the RoleWere hiring an experienced Senior Full Stack / Mobile TypeScript engineer to join on a 6month contract (contractor basis) with potential to extend or convert to full-time.Youll work directly with the CTO to build a brand new React Native mobile app while supporting maintenance on an existing Flutter mobile app. At the same time, youll contribute to our Node.js backend running on Firebase / GCP and enhance internal web tools (React).This role offers real ownership: lead important projects, help shape engineering practices, and make meaningful technical decisions at a company-wide level.Contract range: $70,000$90,000 AUD for 6 months (no super/leave entitlements)Web stack: React + TypeScriptBackend: Node.js / TypeScript on Firebase / GCPIntegrations: RESTful APIs; Stripe (nice to have)Mobile contexts: iOS and Android native integrations, NFC payments, TaptoPay functionalityRequired Skills4+ years of solid mobile development experience supporting both iOS and AndroidProven expertise in React Native, TypeScript, React, and Node.jsComfortable working across frontend and backend domains, including REST API design and consumptionAbility to dive into legacy code (Flutter) and contribute to overall codebase qualitySelfmotivated communicator who can take initiative in a small, agile teamNice to HaveExperience with Stripe (payment integration)Familiarity with Flutter / DartHands-on exposure to Firebase / GCP infrastructure and toolingInterest in fintech, payments, or charitable payment flowsWhat Youll Be DoingMaintain and update our existing Flutter mobile app (short term)Design and build a new React Native app from scratchCollaborate on backend features and internal tools powered by Node.js and FirebaseWork with the CTO to make architectural and product decisionsWhy Join?Real ownership over critical engineering work and product directionFlexible, hybrid setup based in Sydney, with a supportive environment for experienced engineersMeaningful impact - help build products that legitimately help charities, small, medium & enterprise businesses get paid faster and more securelyInterested?This role starts ASAP.
