Their multidisciplinary team combines clinical, technical, and commercial expertise to accelerate the path from idea to real-world application.Theyre seeking a commercially-minded, Head of Finance to join the leadership team in a part-time capacity. This is a critical role for a strategic finance professional who can help guide the business through its next phase of growth. Youll provide high-level financial oversight, support key commercial decisions, and work closely with the executive team and Board to drive performance and long-term value creation.The Head of Finance will supervise accounting duties, including maintaining accurate financialrecords, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, analysing financial data, and assisting with budget preparation. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong organisational and communication skills, and be able to work independently. In addition, the Head of Finance will be a highly adaptable individual ready to face the ever-changing environment of a growing start-up. The Head of Finance will report to the CEO.Responsibilities:Lead financial strategy, forecasting, and planningOversee budgeting, cash flow, and management reportingSupport pricing, project costing, and investment analysisEnsure regulatory and financial complianceSupervise outsourced bookkeeping and payroll managementPartner with the CEO and leadership team on strategic initiativesPrepare board reports and support stakeholder engagementReconciling bank and credit card statements regularlyOrganize and process payroll via XeroProcess purchase orders and client invoices as requiredConducting audits and implementing recommendations for improvementsAssisting with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filingsSupport the CEO and the leadership team for strategic planning, capital raise and grant application as requiredWhat is Needed for Success:Proven experience as a finance director, controller or head of finance, ideally in high-growth or innovation-led sectorsStrong commercial acumen and financial modelling capability, acquired in for profitrevenue-making SMEExperience with funding rounds, grant applications, and investor relations a plusSkilled in navigating project-based environments and scaling operationsStrategic thinker with the ability to execute and influence at all levelsCollaborative and pragmatic leadership styleWhy join us?
