We are seeking a remarkable Lawyer to join our high performing Public Sector Brisbane team. This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to: Join a tierone ranked Public Sector practice Contribute to a successful and impactful team that is market recognised Work with a variety of clients, gaining exposure to some of the most significant projects in Queensland Role Overview Working with our marketleading Public Sector Partner, Majella Pollard, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the nations most complex and transformational major government projects. This high performing practice advises a broad range of public sector clients from local governments to State government departments and governmentowned corporations. You will be involved in providing advice to government agencies on a variety of project planning and acquisition matters, as well as undertaking Land Court litigation. You will also play a significant part in advising at the preconstruction strategy stage for significant infrastructure projects, working alongside experts in valuation, town planning, hydrology, forensic accounting, economic need, quantity surveying and engineering. As the role encourages collaboration across practice groups, you will have abundant opportunities to gain exposure to other areas of the firm. This is a fulltime position, but we are open to discussing a parttime arrangement that suits your working preferences. Key Responsibilities Undertake advisory work and draft shortform agreements related to land, and draft court documents Liaise with clients, experts and counsel Brief and liaise with counsel Collaborate with other practice groups including Real Estate, Construction and Environment & Sustainable Development Attend mediations, court hearings and reviews Skills and Experience At least one year postadmission experience Experience in planning, infrastructure, development or acquisition in a private practice or inhouse environment (litigation, property, and/or government experience would be advantageous) Superior written and verbal expression skills and an aptitude for reshaping and expressing complex concepts concisely A naturally collegiate mindset and positive, enthusiastic attitude that prioritises respect for peers and collaborative working The Public Sector Team Our national Public Sector group is widely regarded as the premier private government practice in Australia.
