As the Head of Unit, Oral Medicine, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the Specialist Care team, overseeing clinical excellence, operational performance, and staff capability across the Oral Medicine Department at RDHM. About the Role This senior leadership role is responsible for planning, managing and delivering specialist oral medicine services, ensuring the highest standards of care, governance and operational effectiveness. Lead, develop and support specialist clinicians and the wider team to achieve activity, quality and performance targets. Provide clinical oversight, peer review and governance to ensure safe, evidencebased patient care. Manage departmental resources, including financial, staffing and clinical facilities, to ensure efficient service delivery. Foster strong partnerships with students, educators and clinical partners, supporting highquality education and training within specialist services. Undertake advanced clinical practice, supervise clinical delivery and maintain high standards of clinical documentation and compliance. Drive continuous improvement, service innovation and performance outcomes in alignment with OHV policy, legislation and clinical frameworks. Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, health & safety, and adherence to all OHV and Victorian Public Sector values. About You You are an experienced specialist dentist and respected clinical leader who thrives in a complex, fastpaced public health setting. Mandatory Eligibility for specialist dentist registration with AHPRA. Proven experience in clinical management and staff leadership. Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, relationship management and collaborative problemsolving. Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes, manage multiple priorities and lead service improvements. Strong understanding of health sector policy, performance metrics and financial drivers. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office. Desirable Experience within public oral health or broader public health settings. Familiarity with Titanium or other patient management systems. Experience supporting student clinical placements and mentoring emerging clinicians.
