Head of Programs and Engagement - Victoria Since its establishment in 1972, Leo Cussen Centre for Law has been and continues to be recognised as a centre of excellence for practical legal training and continuing professional development for entry-level lawyers through to senior legal practitioners. Our purpose is to provide high quality education, training and professional development to strengthen and support the administration of justice and the legal system. The Role In this pivotal role, the Head of Programs and Engagement will lead the Leo Cussen Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) program and other relevant legal education programs offered in Victoria, whilst continuing to develop the relationships, brand, and reputation of Leo Cussen in Victoria. Key responsibilities Reporting to the Director Education Delivery, the successful candidate will: Represent Leo Cussen in Victoria and develop relationships with all stakeholders. Lead and develop a team of lawyer mentors to ensure effective, efficient, and highquality program delivery. Manage delivery of the GDLP course and other relevant programs as required. Provide support, guidance and management in relation to graduate progress in the GDLP including any escalated graduate matters. Actively contribute to building and enhancing the organisations brand, reputation, and presence. Identify and create opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations that align with the organisations objectives. Facilitate and attend relevant events and build relationships with the profession and other stakeholders. As a member of the Education Delivery leadership team, contribute to the Leo Cussen leadership and strategies. Required qualifications and experience Bachelor of Law/Juris Doctor with Current Australian Practicing Certificate. Postgraduate qualification in Education, Business, Leadership, or Management (desirable). Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (desirable). Minimum of 5 years legal practice experience. Significant experience in legal education, higher education, or professional training leadership. Demonstrated success in program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational management. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, develop and support highperforming teams. Strategic and innovative thinking, with the ability to translate organisational goals into effective actions and initiatives. Welldeveloped stakeholder engagement and relationshipbuilding skills across the legal, education and professional sectors. Financial and operational acumen with proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively, and contribute to sustainable business development through effective planning and collaboration. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organisation confidently in professional and public forums. Skills and knowledge of technology to deliver education programs including: Intermediate level of skill using a Learning Management System to train and assess adult learners. Intermediate level of MS Office and CMS platforms Skills in video conferencing and auto calendars. Willingness to travel primarily within Victoria to reach potential markets.
