Department Secretary - Radiation Oncology Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 31/01/2027) Position Classification: Administration Officer Level 4 Location: Nepean Hospital Remuneration: $37.91 - $38.78 per hour Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ625287 Applications Close: 21 December 2025 Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, providing a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region. Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that offers tertiary referral services across many disciplines, including radiation oncology. The Radiation Oncology team seeks a highly organised and professional individual to serve as Department Secretary. Key duties include: Managing diaries, coordinating meetings, and preparing correspondence for the Head of Department and Staff Specialists. Maintaining records, overseeing rostering and recruitment processes, and assisting with procurement and TESL. Producing complex business documents, undertaking data analysis, and carrying out a range of other administrative duties as required. Serving as the secretariat for the Radiation Oncology Trust, requiring discretion, accuracy, and a commitment to excellence. We are looking for a proactive candidate with strong attention to detail and a passion for supporting highquality patient care through efficient and effective administration. What You Will Bring To The Role Demonstrated capacity to provide effective and professional administrative support, in confidence and with discretion within a busy and complex office environment. Welldeveloped verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to problemsolve and use professional judgement. Proficiency in the use of computer applications including Document Management Systems such as Content Manager, Microsoft Office Suite, rostering systems, recruitment systems, procurement systems and patient databases. Proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement processes for administrative services and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Ability to work with changing priorities and demands, work independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under sustained pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
