The Head of Architecture is Qantas principal authority for enterprisewide architecture. This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Enterprise and will lead a multidisciplinary Architecture function spanning Enterprise Domain and Solution Architects. The successful individual will also set the architectural vision and personally practice Enterprise Architecture to guide complex and highvalue initiatives. This position is designed to uplift architecture capability, establish a cohesive practice and ensure every technology investment delivers enduring value, resilience and speedtomarket for Qantas Group businesses. Responsibilities Lead and own enterprisewide architecture. Contribute towards the technology 2030 transformation strategy. Lead a multidisciplinary Architecture function spanning Enterprise Domain and Solution Architects. Set the architectural vision and personally practice Enterprise Architecture to guide complex and highvalue initiatives. Establish a cohesive architecture practice and ensure every technology investment delivers enduring value, resilience, and speedtomarket for Qantas Group businesses. Qualifications 12+ years experience in Enterprise & Solution Architecture within complex regulated enterprises with significant technology scale and 5 years in architectural leadership roles. Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Postgraduate business/technology qualifications desirable. Certifications in EA frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF) are a plus. Demonstrated ability to formulate and lead a holistic architectural strategy across business, application, information technology and security domains. Experience capturing and analysing a holistic view across business data, application, integration, infrastructure and security layers, determining major gaps and inadequacies in the overall technology landscape. Crafting, socialising and executing a futurestate architecture that connects business strategy to executable roadmaps, enabling cohesive costeffective and resilient solutions. Disciplined assessment of emerging tech vendor offerings and legacy debt to inform investment choices, retirement plans and innovation pilots. Previous experience and handson skill establishing standards review boards and automated controls that balance delivery velocity with risk management.
