About The Job Software Engineering Managers lead teams that deliver software integrated into our productsautonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and offboard command and control or decision support. Managers demonstrate endtoend outcome ownership of major systems and drive rapid prototyping, design, delivery, support, and evolution throughout the product lifecycle. What Youll Do Empathize with endusers and deliver solutions that balance user needs with constraints, restrictions, and requirements in a multistakeholder environment. Be accountable for softwareenabled solutions deployed to customers, optimizing for value delivery. Collaborate with a Technical Lead to architect scalable software that expands capability beyond current platforms, with a clear path for future evolution. Coordinate your teams roadmap and execution with other Anduril teams to develop reusable components across product lines. Contribute to the design, implementation, and execution of development processes, including fulllifecycle testing, monitoring, and operation. Manage a 618 month roadmap for your team within the broader organisational roadmap. Manage an allocated budget and programmatic risk, collaborating with the Technical Lead to manage technical risk. Lead by example as a technically competent, trustworthy, and accountable team lead. Communicate organisational vision, strategy, and direction to your team. Define, document, and gain consensus for goals and plans derived from broader vision and strategy. Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team of 410 members, mentoring and managing engineers from diverse backgrounds. Report to a manager who may or may not have a background in software engineering. Travel to colocate with endusers and other teams up to 20% of the time. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience. Experience in a management position within a highperforming technology organization. Extensive professional experience working as a Software Engineer across multiple domains or technologies. Capacity to lead a team that works holistically on softwareenabled capabilities through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment. Capacity to act as the owner for a software system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, and sustainment. Capacity to learn and grow individually while mentoring team members, building cohesion, and expanding capacity. Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a senior role delivering a military mission system and/or autonomous vehicle. Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C, C++, Rust, and/or Go. Experience writing frontend applications using TypeScript and React. Experience working with an RTOS. Experience designing, implementing, and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting embedded software, especially in robotics. Experience with modeling and simulation. Familiarity with communication buses and protocols (e.g., CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC825, ARINC429, MILSTD1553). Experience developing highassurance safetycritical software, including DO178, IEC61508, or similar standards. Experience in design and development of embedded applications for autonomous vehicle software systems. Experience in developing interfaces to sensors and actuators. Experience with testing electrical and mechanical systems. Familiarity with navigation and communications systems. Experience within the product delivery lifecycle including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment. Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts. Desire to learn and grow into other roles such as Senior Software Engineering Manager.
