Chief Executive Officer / Business Development Lead Location: Tasmania. Work Type: Flexible (part-time negotiated hours). Sector: Agribusiness / Not-for-Profit / Industry Development. Lead the growth and success of Tasmania''s potato industry. Potatoes Tasmania is a newly established, grower-led organisation focused on enhancing the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of Tasmania''s potato sector. Formed by growers with strong industry backing, Potatoes Tasmania is ready to deliver projects that will strengthen the future of this vital industry. We are seeking an inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Business Development Lead (BDL) to lead the organisation from establishment through to delivery. This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction, culture, and impact of a brand-new, grower-led industry body with strong support and a clear long-term vision. About the Role Reporting to the Board, the CEO / BDL will : Provide leadership as Potatoes Tasmania moves from establishment to operational delivery. Strengthen and build on existing relationships with growers, processors, researchers, and government to foster collaboration. Lead productivity and sustainability initiatives that deliver real value to the sector. Oversee projects, budgets, and governance with transparency and accountability. Represent Tasmania''s potato industry in state, national, and (as required) international forums. You''ll be supported by the Board, a Biosecurity Program Manager, and Rural Business Tasmania (as finance and administration contractor). About You Youll be a motivated and credible leader who brings : Proven experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or related industry leadership. Strong strategic, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. A collaborative, handson approach suited to a startup phase organisation.
