Full-Time | Sydney | Growing Construction & Projects Business Our client is a fast-growing, high-performing organisation in the construction projects sector seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations, people, and performance across the business. This role is ideal for a strategic, handson leader who can drive operational excellence while supporting longterm growth. About the Role As the General Manager, you will oversee daytoday operations, staff leadership, system improvement, financial oversight, and recruitment. You will work closely with the Director to free his time for sales, networking, and growth initiatives, acting as the operational engine of the business. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Lead and mentor office and site staff. Run weekly meetings and 1:1s. Manage performance, accountability, and culture. Drive recruitment, onboarding, and probation reviews. Operations & Projects Oversee project planning, resourcing, and workflow. Monitor tenders, proposals, and project pipelines. Ensure systems compliance (PX360, HazardCo, Xero and monday.com). Remove bottlenecks and improve daily operations. HR, Systems & Compliance Lead recruitment campaigns across office and site roles. Ensure onboarding, HR documentation, and system processes are followed. Maintain SOPs, safety, and compliance standards. Finance & Reporting Review project budgets, timesheets, and invoicing cycles. Ensure accurate operational reporting for leadership. Identify inefficiencies and support commercial decisionmaking. Act as the Directors right hand on execution. Provide insights, risk visibility, and quarterly business review inputs. Support scaling of people, systems, and operations. Key Skills & Experience 5+ years operational leadership experience (construction or related industry preferred). Proven success leading teams in fastpaced environments. Strong understanding of systems, processes, and technology. Excellent communication, organisation, and problemsolving skills. Financial acumen with experience in budgets and reporting. Confident, pragmatic, and able to work autonomously.
