Head of Actuarial Valuation Full Time Opportunity As the Head of Actuarial Valuation, youll lead a high-performing team and will support the General Manager Actuarial, playing a pivotal role in guiding our organisation''s strategy by providing expert actuarial analysis and insights. You will own and enhance our embedded value models, which are a critical cornerstone of Greenstones broader data-driven strategy, working closely with leaders across the business on company-wide initiatives, products and service offerings. The role will encompass Life, Pet and General Insurance products across all of Greenstones domestic and international markets, including New Zealand and Canada. You will : Be accountable for Greenstones Embedded Value Models (EVMs) and associated business forecast infrastructure, which form a critical component of Greenstones financials, and is an input to a wide range of broader business analytics and reporting Own, evolve and enhance the EVMs data, models, and reporting infrastructure ensuring it is accurate, robust and transparent Lead the annual experience investigation and the external audit review process Lead the actuarial stream for the budget forecast process Build, deploy, and maintain a range of models (such as GLMs, GBMs, and other statistical and ML methods) to enhance the EVM valuation precision and business insights Pragmatically identify and implement AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of team outputs Prepare and present clear and insightful reports to executive leadership and other stakeholders Conduct robust analysis to support decision making across a wide range of commercial initiatives Collaborate with the broader Data Analytics and Product leadership team to appropriately integrate EVM model outputs into the broader analytics and reporting ecosystem Lead and develop a high-performing actuarial team, fostering excellence, collaboration and innovation Role model the Greenstone values of Customer First, We Care, One Team and Results Driven What you will bring to the team : Tertiary qualifications in mathematics or a related technical discipline, combined with an actuarial qualification (AIAA or higher) 8+ years relevant actuarial or analytics experience (life insurance experience advantageous but not essential) Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong grasp of a range of statistical and machine learning modelling techniques Ability to clearly communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills Experience managing large-scale data and model systems, with handson coding capability (SQL and Python preferred) Proven business acumen and the ability to maintain a strategic bigpicture perspective across Greenstones operations Strong understanding of the linkages between actuarial outputs and finance data and systems, ensuring consistency between valuation, forecasting, and financial reporting Experience in a fastpaced, entrepreneurial, datadriven environment (such as consulting or a startup) is highly valued Demonstrated experience leading actuarial or analytical teams, including coaching and developing highperforming staff Our Promise to Our People We are passionate about our core values of Customer First, We Care, One Team, and Results Driven, which define how we approach our work.
