Job Reference: 1168217 About the role Curtin University is seeking an exceptional Principal Platforms Architect to drive the strategic design and evolution of our core technology platforms. This pivotal role provides expert architectural leadership across Curtins ServiceNow, Microsoft, and AWS environments, ensuring our digital ecosystem is robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs. As a senior leader within Digital & Technology Solutions, you will shape Curtins digital platform strategy, influence enterprisewide solution design, and guide engineering teams to deliver worldclass outcomes that support the Universitys vision. Your responsibilities will include Lead and own the Universitys core platform architecture and design standards. Provide highlevel technical thought leadership and ensure bestpractice solution delivery across DTS. Partner with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and vendors to develop futurefocused, fitforpurpose solutions. Oversee solution architecture practices, governance, reviews, and quality assurance. Guide and mentor architects and technical specialists, fostering a highperforming and collaborative culture. Codesign and support the Software Development Lifecycle and Solution Delivery Framework. Ensure architectures support security, resilience, performance, and cost optimisation. Ensure alignment between technical solutions and enterprise architectures. Build strong relationships across vendors, partners, and technical communities. Drive innovation and contribute to efficiency gains and strategic IT outcomes. Selection Criteria Youre a seasoned architecture leader with deep expertise across cloud and enterprise platforms, known for your strategic thinking, excellent communication, and ability to influence at all levels. You will bring: Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive seniorlevel ICT experience. Strong knowledge of contemporary ICT trends, emerging technologies, and architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman). Strategic thinker with the ability to balance longterm vision and pragmatic delivery. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop teams in complex environments. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Advanced analytical, problemsolving, and business analysis capability. Experience designing largescale, complex solutions and governing architecture practices. Ability to manage political sensitivities, competing priorities, and executivelevel relationships. Strong leadership capability, with a coaching and collaborative mindset. Able to operate in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and priorities. Desirable TOGAF 9+ certification AWS Solutions Architect Professional Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification Experience working in higher education or large complex organisations Role Requirements As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
