Senior Software Engineer We''re currently hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing team at a leading investment and financial services firm in Sydney CBD. We''re about to rebuild our entire trading platform into a cloud-native, microservices architecture, replacing legacy integration points with Kafka streaming, modernising performance, and rethinking how we handle scale. It''s the kind of transformation engineers rarely get to own in their career - and we''re looking for people who want to help design it. Office Location: Sydney CBD Working Arrangement: Hybrid (flexible) Salary Range: $180K-$230K + super + competitive bonus. Role Overview As a Senior Software Engineer, you''ll play a key role in designing and developing a high-performance in-house trading platform connecting to global equity markets. This is a hands-on, collaborative position where you''ll work closely with traders, stakeholders, and a small, focused engineering team to deliver scalable systems that drive trading and investment strategy. Tech Environment Java, Linux, Kafka, SQL, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker/Kubernetes Key Responsibilities Build and maintain core components of a real-time trading platform Solve complex challenges across infrastructure, data, and application layers Enhance system design, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and engineering practices What We''re Looking For 5-10 years'' Java experience, with deep knowledge of concurrency and performance Background in low-latency or high-throughput systems, ideally within trading, financial markets, or capital markets.
