The Role Reporting to the Chief Heritage Officer, the Director, Land and Heritage leads PKKPs Land and Heritage Unit within the Heritage, Environment and Native Title function. This position provides strategic and operational leadership to the Managers of Heritage Projects, Heritage Approvals, and Heritage Operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of heritage surveys, approvals, and compliance activities in line with PKKPs agreements and obligations. The Director is responsible for overseeing operational performance, ensuring all invoicing to mining proponents is accurate and up to date, and that financial and compliance reporting remains timely and consistent. Regular travel across PKKP Country is required to attend Land & Heritage Committee, Co-Management, and CMC meetings, as well as on-site stakeholder and field engagements. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor the Managers of Heritage Projects, Heritage Approvals, and Heritage Operations. Oversee all operational aspects of the Land and Heritage Unit. Manage budgets, invoicing, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ensure heritage surveys, approvals, and reporting meet obligations under agreements. Represent PKKP AC at Land & Heritage, Co-Management and CMC meetings. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners. Support, train and mentor PKKP Traditional Owner survey teams. Oversee contractors, consultants, and field operations. Promote cultural safety and uphold PKKP values in all operations. About You Senior leadership experience in heritage, land or environmental management. Strong understanding of Aboriginal heritage legislation and compliance frameworks. Proven record in stakeholder engagement, staff management, and team development. Financial literacy and experience managing budgets and invoicing. Culturally respectful, with experience working with Traditional Owners. Tertiary qualification in Archaeology, Anthropology, Environmental Science or similar.
