Reporting to a Director, Legal, you will be responsible for both providing and supervising the delivery of legal services on a broad range of challenging matters and projects across DCS agencies, particularly Service NSW.A person in a Managing Lawyer role will need to :Provide and supervise a small team in the provision of accurate, timely and expert advice on critical legal issues across the range of legislation administered by DCS and Service NSW, including statutory interpretation, the conduct of legislative projects and administrative law.Analyse and interpret legislation; draft documents including advice, submissions, and other legal documentation briefing notes and correspondence.Work with our internal stakeholders on a range of legislative and digital data projects, including requests for advice, to exchange information, complete tasks and meet deadlines providing advice that supports the organisation.The roles involve working in a fast-paced environment with changing and competing priorities. To be successful in a Managing Lawyer role it is essential that you are motivated and an effective communicator with great initiative who can work with and manage other lawyers, adapt to changing priorities, and manage competing deadlines. The right applicant will use their initiative, be client focused and be able to respond to novel questions and develop innovative solutions.
