We are excited to be able to offer Consultant posts within the newly developed division of Emergency and Acute Medical services at YNLHN. Although the working environment has improved over the last year, there is still plenty to do to improve our processes. We are looking for applicants who will be keen to make a real difference to patient care by providing clinical leadership, training and supporting clinical governance. The region has a fledgling GP training scheme that we wish to expand in the next few years. Recently, there has been a significant investment in junior staffing across both Port Pirie and Wallaroo hospitals that have contributed positively to the working environment, leading to increased clinical safety and efficiency. Both departments have seen a 10% increase in attendances over the last year All applicants must have attained a post graduate qualification or be within six months of attaining this. Key Responsibilities: Provide clinical services to the highest standard with limited supervision, exercising professional judgement and advanced clinical competence. Manage the day-to-day operations of the emergency department efficiently and safely. Respond to MET/Code Blue/Code Black calls as required during shifts. Supervise, train, and provide guidance to junior medical staff and allied health professionals. Participate in teaching, quality assurance, continuous improvement, health promotion, and community education activities. Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental performance. What Were Looking For: Were seeking a dedicated and experienced medical practitioner who holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with appropriate specialist qualifications such as FACEM, FACRRM, or FRACGP. You must be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration, or hold an equivalent qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work independently, lead clinical teams, and deliver high-quality emergency care in a multidisciplinary setting.
