AngliSchools is seeking applications for the inaugural Head of Junior School at St Matthews Anglican School, a new coeducational school opening in 2027 in the rapidly growing coastal community of Yanchep, north of Perth. This is a unique and exciting foundation leadership role that offers the opportunity to help shape a new Anglican school. You will lead the Junior School from its earliest stages, working closely with the Executive Principal to establish an inclusive, valuesdriven environment where students can thrive. The successful applicant will be wellqualified, an experienced leader, and committed to Anglican education. The position includes leadership responsibilities during the establishment phase and will incorporate a teaching role in 2027, as the school opens with Kindergarten to Year 6, growing to K12 by 2033. A key responsibility will be to help shape and embed the Anglican Identity of St Matthews, guided by the values of faith, inclusion, respect, and excellence. Reporting directly to the Executive Principal, the Head of Junior School will make a significant contribution to the Schools early development, community engagement, and teaching program. The appointment of a substantive Principal is expected for the 2028 school year. While a transition to the Principal role is not assumed, it will be considered as the school grows. The Opportunity The Head of Junior School (Foundation Phase) will: Serve as the foundation leader during setup and development Lead planning curriculum, classroom environments, and early school structures Oversee the creation of the Schools curriculum, including earlystage mapping, assessment approaches and instructional frameworks Oversee enrolments, family engagement, and community relationships Have a teaching component Model best practice teaching and induct new staff Lead with warmth, flexibility, and strong Christian values Work closely with the Executive Principal as the school grows toward a full K12 model This is an exceptional opportunity for an educator who is energised by innovation, startup environments, and the privilege of shaping a new Anglican school.
