Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority Brisbane QLD The Head of Finance plays an integral role in providing leadership and management of the Authoritys finance and procurement functions along with engagement and collaboration with other leadership roles within the Authority and external stakeholders including relevant agencies within the Queensland and Australian Governments. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and Executive General Manager Corporate Services, as the Head of Finance you will develop and execute on the financial strategy and plan for the Authority, while ensuring all financial and management reporting is undertaken in an accurate and timely fashion and all financial compliance obligations are adhered to. The Head of Finance leads the Authoritys procurement function, ensuring alignment with the Queensland Procurement Policy and that the Authority engages effectively with industry to achieve procurement outcomes. Additionally, you lead and drive finance related projects and strategies that will support the Authority to achieve its objectives. As Head of Finance, you will provide strong and effective leadership for the entire finance team and functions including Financial Accounting and Reporting, Capital Reporting, Business Partnering, Transactional Service and Procurement Teams. In joining the Authority, you will join a team of hard-working professionals, dedicated to preparing Queensland for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The salary on offer is between $220,000 and $260,000 per annum commensurate with experience, inclusive of 12.75% superannuation. This is a full-time, maximum-term role for 6years (with possibility of extension). About your Responsibilities Manage the Authoritys core financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, providing strategic analysis and management advice to the GIICA Executive Leadership Team and the Board. Collaborate with the Chief Finance Officer and Executive General Manager Corporate Services in providing financial advice, analysis and information to deliver the longterm financial strategy. Develop and lead a culture of fiscal awareness and accountability and drive a financial culture that is open and transparent. Manage and monitor cash flow and ensure that accurate cash flow forecasts are developed. Provide oversight of external and internal financial and management accounting reporting including annual statutory financial statements, annual budgets, capital plans and forecasts. Engagement and liaison with relevant State Departments and Treasury on financial matters including Budget submissions and forecasts. Manage the Authoritys relationship with our external and internal auditors. Lead and provide oversight of GIICAs Procurement function ensuring that the Authority is well supported commercially and remains compliant with the State Procurement Policy. Ensure that the Authority is supported in its Contract Management through the provision of timely reporting and analysis of expenditure and commitments. Identification and communication of financial risks facing the Authority and the development of appropriate mitigation strategies. Lead a workplace that enables success and empowers GIICA staff to perform to their full potential with a focus on better services and outcomes Represent the Authority on relevant forums and committees across government and thirdparty entities. About You Possession of a relevant qualification in accounting, commerce or related discipline with a solid foundation in finance and accounting. Membership to the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA Australia). Extensive experience in a finance leadership role within a complex organisation. Experience in a government setting, particularly with a Queensland Government statutory authority would be highly regarded. A proactive and solution focused approach, with the ability to build, lead and motivate a finance function through periods of change and ambiguity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to build positive working relationships within the Authority and within State Government.
