Mission critical is to bring expertise, practical knowledge and skills in the following areas: Strong knowledge and familiarity with local business and community issues Banking operations Technology and cyber awareness (cyber security desirable but not essential) Risk management and governance Your responsibilities will include: Attending board meetings either in-person or online (in-person preferred) Assisting with organisational direction and strategy Acting as an ambassador for the organisation Exercising strong governance oversight and independent judgement Darling Downs Bank has 11 Board meetings per year, and as such, you will need to be available for approximately one day a month for meetings, with additional time required for meeting preparation. About You To thrive in this role, you will be a strategic and commercially minded individual with demonstrated experience working as a Non-Executive Director. Ideally, you will reside within our market area and have strong ties to the Darling Downs region. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated the ability to positively influence others, think strategically and identify and critically assess strategic opportunities. A strong belief in, and understanding of, the mutual banking model is highly desirable. Experience in the following areas will also be considered essential: Accounting or finance Banking operations Technology or digital systems within the financial services sector Risk, audit or compliance Strategic planning and governance Youll bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with the Board, CEO and Executive Management Team.
