Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW Orange NSW Temporary Full time position to 30 June 2027 Location: All NSW locations Clerk grade 9/10 starting at $129,464.00 + super & leave Senior Economist within the Regional Programs and Partnerships branch, you will lead the development and implementation of economic evaluation, assessment, and research activities to ensure robust examination of regional development programs. Your work will provide evidence of economic impact of programs to inform future program investment decisions and program delivery. This includes designing and maintaining economic evaluation models, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and preparing high-quality reports and briefs for government stakeholders. You will also mentor and guide team members in the design and delivery of economic evaluation and assessment activities and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and utilise economic evaluation to support strategic investment decisions across regional NSW. We are seeking a highly skilled professional who can: Apply advanced economic modelling and analysis techniques to the design and conduct of economic evaluation of complex regional development programs. Communicate technical and economic information clearly to non-technical audiences. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decisionmaking. Manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure. Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a commitment to public sector values. Tertiary qualifications in economics, resource economics, social and economic assessment, or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of economic statistics, macro and microeconomics, and key issues affecting industry and regional development. Experience in developing economic models, costbenefit analysis, and interpreting large datasets. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and persuasive reports and briefs.
