Location: Altona North, VIC (with national travel) Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: January 2026 Lead safety excellence across a national logistics network. Tasman Logistics is a leading provider of transport and warehousing solutions, committed to delivering safe, efficient, and innovative services to our customers. We are seeking a dynamic Head of Safety to champion our safety strategy and culture across multi-site operations. About the Role Lead and develop a dedicated safety team, fostering capability and engagement. Embed a proactive safety culture across all operations. Ensure compliance with WHS/OHS legislation and other relevant safety standards. Work in close partnership with our Head of Compliance to deliver integrated risk and assurance outcomes. Lead critical risk programs, audits, investigations, and emergency preparedness. Oversee training, competency frameworks, and safety leadership development. Provide specialist advice on all safety matters to key business partners, including interpretation and application of policies and procedures, and resolve queries and issues. Create policies, procedures, and safe work practices as required to ensure risks are mitigated for Tasman team members. Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards. Monitor and report on compliance, identify gaps, and drive initiatives to close them. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement safety strategies and action plans aligned with organisational goals. Act as a key advisor, providing insights on safety risks, policies, and best practice. Maintain and improve a business-wide safety governance framework. Own and manage the safety platform, ensuring it supports effective reporting, tracking, and close-out of incidents. Review and improve safety system workflows, including contractor document management and expiry notifications. Evaluate alternative systems and make recommendations for improvement. Support compliance initiatives related to Modern Slavery and Emissions reporting obligations. Take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. For example, take immediate, decisive, independent action to resolve issues or problems. Persist as needed. Quickly and consistently identify and pursue beneficial new opportunities. What We''re Looking For Proven leadership in safety (prior experience within transport and logistics environments is a plus). Minimum of 7+ years of safety leadership experience is required. Strong knowledge of WHS/OHS laws and fatigue management. Experience with HVNL/NHVR and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations is highly regarded but not a must. Experience implementing safety technology solutions. Experience with Rapid Global systems (Rapid Induct, Rapid Contractor Management) is highly regarded.
