About The Role The Systems Performance team ensures that market ancillary services, such as frequency control, and asset performance remain as expected. It assists in rectifying compliance issues and develops procedures and specifications governing system and asset performance. Your role will provide technical leadership for reviewing power system performance against National Electricity Rules and generator performance standards, supporting new generation connections and the operation of the NEM fleet. What You Will Be Doing Lead investigations into the technical performance of generators to recommend actions for noncompliance. Direct investigations of power system incidents and analyse performance issues to support improvements. Manage and review technical reports, ensuring high quality and suitability for the intended audience. Identify study needs and oversee study objectives, approaches and presentations. Liaise with internal teams and NEM participants, providing advice, facilitating information exchange and representing AEMO at forums and working groups. What You Will Bring To The Role Electrical Engineering degree focused on power systems or power electronics, with strong experience in power systems. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles related to transmission, distribution and generation, and experience with generator performance standards or operations. Desirable knowledge of national electricity rules regarding generating systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and nontechnical audiences.
