Senior Assets Officer (Engineering focus) Lead. Innovate. Build a Stronger Future. We are seeking an experienced and forwardthinking Senior Assets Officer to lead the development and continuous improvement of our asset management function. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with deep technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a passion for building highperforming teams. About the Role As the Senior Assets Officer, you will provide expert leadership in the planning, development, and integration of Councils Asset Management Plans, systems, and standards. You will guide the longterm stewardship of Councils physical assets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and supporting evidencebased decision making. Key focuses include: Leading the development, implementation and enhancement of asset management strategies, systems and service levels. Overseeing asset condition assessments and providing recommendations for maintenance, renewal and replacement programs. Ensuring asset systems integrate effectively with broader IT and financial systems. Driving annual and longterm capital, renewal and maintenance planning. Providing expert advice to the Director Infrastructure Services, Council, committees, and crossdepartmental stakeholders. Leading asset valuation processes and liaising with the CFO, auditors and internal teams. Managing grant funding processes, compliance activities and WHS and risk documentation. Building a collaborative, innovative, and highperforming team culture. Please see attached Position Description for more information Leadership Responsibilities Provide strong, innovative leadership and mentor staff to foster teamwork, open communication, and professional growth. Promote continuous improvement across asset management practices and internal processes. Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment, and team development initiatives. About You You are a skilled leader with a solid foundation in civil engineering, asset management or GIS, and a proven ability to guide complex asset programs. You excel at motivating teams, solving problems, and working collaboratively across an organisation. You will bring Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, or significant (5+ years) GIS experience. Demonstrated people leadership skills, including team building and conflict resolution. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Highly developed analytical, organisational, project and financial management capability. Knowledge of relevant legislation and strong computer literacy. Commitment to safety, risk management and customer service. Current Australian drivers licence and White Card. What We Offer 9day fortnight, in a secure fulltime position Long service leave entitlements after 5 years Chance to live and work in the beautiful Central West NSW region The salary range for this position is currently within the range of $1,800.22 to $2,070.38 (inclusive of civil liability allowance) per week + Super A motor vehicle in accordance with Council''s motor vehicle leaseback arrangement is available, or accordingly the successful applicant may choose to receive a vehicle allowance instead.
