Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant and Team Lead Talis Consultants is a multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong focus on client service across the public and private sectors. We have offices in Perth, Newcastle, Brisbane, and Nowra and other operating bases in Melbourne, Kalgoorlie, and Hobart. We specialise in providing expert services in Waste Management, Environmental Services, Engineering, Asset Management, Spatial Intelligence and Noise Management. Since our inception, Talis has gone from strength-to-strength capitalising on the depth of talent and experience within the members of our rapidly expanding team. This expansion now includes a Brisbane office. Talis already has an established presence at this office through our Waste business and is looking to strengthen our presence and services in Queensland. In keeping with this, our Environment business is looking for a Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant to lead our Approvals & Assessments team in Queensland. Position Duties Sourcing and delivering work Working with existing businesses within Talis and supporting their work Maintaining existing client relationships and sourcing new ones Growing and maintaining an environmental practice Working with and reporting to the National Environment Lead The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience across a range of industries and demonstrated experience in dealing with project approvals, Environmental Impact Assessment, statutory advice, management plans and mine closure. Experience in working within a consultancy will be considered favourably. Attributes Excellent technical capacity; Excellent understanding of the legal framework in Qld associated with mining and industry; Experience working throughout the Qld (and other local States/Territories); Excellent relationships with key Government stakeholders; Expertise in coordinating/completing complex technical assessments, records and written reports; Longstanding expertise in dealing with environmental and mining approvals as well as mine closure; Credibility, a strong reputation and an excellent track record with Clients on a range of land development, industrial and mining projects; Management experience with small consultancy teams; Highlevel business development skills and hold strong existing Client relationships; Excellent oral and written skills; Ability to manage and maintain key client relationships; Demonstrated experience in presenting at industry forums; Experience in developing and implementing market/business development plans; Willingness and a track record of building a strong portfolio of clients and projects; and Permanent Australian residency; and Experience onsite would also be considered favourably.
