The Company: Our client is a dynamic and growing organisation within the beef industry, committed to excellence and building strong relationships across the supply chain. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager Livestock to play a pivotal role in their operations and contribute to their continued success. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team and influence the strategic direction of livestock procurement. The Role: As the General Manager Livestock, you will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Director/CEO. Your primary focus will be on strategically managing all aspects of livestock procurement, ensuring costeffectiveness, quality, and consistent supply. You will lead and mentor a team of buyers, farm hands and livestock admin support, cultivate strong relationships with sellers and industry partners, and identify new opportunities for growth. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional negotiation, communication and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct support to the CEO. Manage and provide constructive feedback to employed and commission buyers. Employ skilful negotiation tactics when engaging with livestock sellers. Proactively identify and develop new livestock sales opportunities, including markets and farm sales, while being accountable for building and expanding relationships with key industry stakeholders, particularly processors. Oversee and manage the companys livestock farming operations. Maintain regular and effective communication with internal teams, including sales and operations. Prepare and deliver timely weekly and monthly livestock reports. Conduct site visits to thirdparty processing facilities to ensure adherence to compliance, processing and livestock quality standards. Oversee livestock system administration, including the daytoday coordination of critical reporting documentation. Take responsibility for the timely updating of cattle grids and related processes as changes occur. Provide strong leadership and support to team members across the business through positive behaviour and guidance. The Person: To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of livestock and significant experience within the beef industry. Proven ability to effectively lead and manage a team. Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Superior negotiation abilities with a track record of achieving favourable outcomes. Strong problemsolving skills coupled with welldeveloped analytical abilities. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Welldeveloped customer service and relationship management skills.
