We have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and action/outcome orientated individual to tackle the operational issues associated with the warehousing and distribution functions of our predominantly import based business of live aquarium fish (2500 fish tanks) and pet products warehouses. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate a track record of organising, leading and performance managing a team in a continuously growing and changing environment. The challenge will be to identify areas for operational improvement and to set deadlines and consistently meet them. This is a handson role. Responsibilities Working within a team of approximately 30 operational staff in our two warehouses at our Narangba site. Encouraging a positive culture where you lead by example. Recommending appropriate training and development of staff to the Operations Manager and Managing Director. Ensuring a safe workplace is maintained at all times and imposing a zerotolerance to staff or practices which increase the level of risk in the workplace. Anticipating workload demand and allocating human resources accordingly. Prioritising multiple projects in order to meet deadlines, whilst delivering high levels of internal communication. Ensuring that regular, efficient and accurate stocktakes are performed with minimal disruption to normal business activities. Assisting in the accurate and timely picking and packing of customer orders. Delivering increased efficiencies and productivity by driving best practice throughout the warehousing and distribution functions. Continuously reviewing the processesflow, systems and warehouse and fishroom layout. Implementing, monitoring and being accountable for KPI''s relating to all aspects of the warehousing and distribution functions (e.g., inventory levels, fill rates, pick/pack rates etc). We are open to considering applicants without some of this experience but ready for a change and willing to put the effort in. This is a handson role. Proven inventory management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and inventory management software. Managing all functions of a warehouse that houses in excess of 2000 lines. Experience operating a forklift and a valid Forklift License. A Workplace Health and Safety Officer Qualification (highly regarded).
