About the Role Bowen Rail Company are seeking interest for an Operations Supervisor to join our Operations team in Bowen. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent (Rail), you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the rail operations workforce, ensuring productivity, team performance, safety compliance and a culture aligned with the Bowen Rail Values of Accountability, Safety, People, Integrity, Respect and Excellence ASPIRE for the Operations function. Safety Leadership: Set the standard for safety at Bowen Rail Company.Demonstrate visible safety leadership in line with the values and ensure that hazard identification, risk evaluation and risk control are foundations of the business. Support the BRC rail operations team to ensure that rail operations are planned, resourced and executed to achieve customer and business objectives. Monitor the live run of train operations with the focus on delivering planned outcomes. Provide leadership and direction to BRC workers including train crew and train support personnel to ensure that business and customer expectations are met. Champion a safety culture which promotes, creates and maintains objectives and targets for health and safety. Coach and mentor train crew and train support personnel. Manage the status of key performance indicators for train crew and train support personnel. Ensure the welfare of train crew and train support personnel. Manage and investigate operational incidents or non-conformances. Support operations emergency and disruption management. Monitor and review operational and train crew performance. Provide accurate and timely advice regarding all Bowen Rail Company policies and procedures. About You Manages self with resilience and integrity, particularly in a changing environment. Works collaboratively, communicates effectively, both written and verbal Understands the requirements of the position and proactively works to deliver performance aligned outcomes. Certificate IV in Train Driving 7+ years experience in equivalent position SARC Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited) Experience supervising rail traffic crew teams in rail operations environment Sufficient knowledge of the risk profile of railway operations and risk management processes required to eliminate or control risks to acceptable levels Experience in Incident investigation, reporting and applying corrective action Ability to effectively engage team members, establish and sustain relationships, set clear direction. and provide coaching TLIF2010 Apply Fatigue Management Strategies or demonstrated ability to obtain. TLIF 3063 Administer the implementation of fatigue management strategies or demonstrated ability to obtain. Certificate IV Transport and Logistics Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Qualifications in Leadership (Cert, Diploma or other).
