Job Description

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with 23+ years in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting. You have strong clinical assessment skills, can recognise and escalate deterioration, and work confidently both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. You communicate clearly, document accurately, and are committed to ongoing professional development. About the Role You will be the first point of contact for patients arriving at the Emergency Department, responsible for assessing and prioritising their care using the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS). Your role ensures patients receive timely and appropriate treatment while maintaining smooth patient flow in a fast-paced, rural hospital environment. What You Will Be Doing Receiving and triaging all ED arrivals using ATS 15 Performing rapid assessments and allocating triage categories Monitoring and reassessing patients in the waiting area Documenting accurate triage records Escalating clinical concerns to senior staff Communicating with ambulance, ED, inpatient and community teams Contributing to quality improvement, audits and safety compliance What You Will Need AHPRA RN registration 23 years recent ED or high-acuity experience Competence in ATS triage Strong assessment and clinical escalation skills Proficiency with IEMR (Integrated Electronic Medical Records) system CPR/BLS and mandatory competencies Excellent communication and organisational skills Whats In It For You?
