Amazing Innovative Program Host in Leongatha We are looking for an amazing local person to host our innovative health program aimed at improving the quality of life for older Australians. Australia has an ageing population the percentage of Australians over the age of 65 is set to exceed 30%, and in Gippsland it is closer to 40%. This places enormous pressure on our health care system, with a shrinking number of GPs and specialist care that is costly and has long waiting lists. Live Life Get Active is a health promotion charity that, for over 10 years, has worked in communities to improve health and happiness. We have supported over 100,000 people, improving health risks and health literacy. By treating people with respect and providing them with the knowhow, we help them significantly improve their quality of life. The program we would like you to host is called Live Younger Longer. It focuses on active ageing and brings specialists into communities to show people how to improve their enjoyment of life, increase their energy and motivation, and most importantly, stay out of hospital and aged care. Your role is pivotal you will be the face of the program, warm and caring each day, listening to participants, calling them by name and making them feel safe, valued and capable. You will work closely with an exercise physiologist, a dietitian and a clinical psychologist, learning a lot along the way. The program runs for 6 months with 2 sessions per week, each approximately 2 hours long. You will be the local face of our organisation and the lead person responsible for looking after 60 older Australians 2 days per week for 6 months. You will have support. What Youll Do Welcome and engage participants (aged 65+) with warmth and confidence. Take an electronic rollcall of attendees and note absences. Set up and manage the program tech each week. This includes connecting the laptop to projectors, microphones, speakers, and screens, and connecting remote presenters to the room (training provided). Take the lead run short welcome messages, announcements and prize giveaways. Support the session by managing attendance, troubleshooting issues and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Capture the moment take clear, engaging photos each week (phone is fine). Report back key outcomes and observations via a simple weekly form. Contribute to promotion (e.g., local notice boards, community groups) if required. Who You Are Confident, warm and great with people of all ages especially older adults. Organised, reliable and comfortable managing a large group of people. Techsavvy confident with Zoom, projectors, sound equipment and laptops (training provided). Comfortable speaking in front of a large group. Happy to roll up your sleeves to help with light physical tasks (setting up chairs, equipment). Possibly have a background in events, community work, teaching, nursing, customer service or hospitality. Confident working with large groups of people.
