We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Director Hydrogeology / Groundwater Modelling based in Victoria (or other locations in Australia). The role involves providing specialist technical direction, advising on hydrogeology and numerical groundwater modelling, leading and coordinating groundwater modelling projects across Victoria and APAC, developing the project pipeline through business development, client relationships and winning work strategies, ensuring quality delivery, and mentoring team members to build technical capability. Responsibilities Leading groundwater impact assessments and integrated modelling of surface and groundwater systems, including solute transport modelling. Providing technical direction and management for highquality modelling project outcomes, collaborating with national and international multidisciplinary teams. Preparing, developing and reviewing proposals and bids for projects, and delivering technical reporting and data analytics. Engaging with clients throughout pursuit, tendering and delivery phases, ensuring project outcomes and client satisfaction. Mentoring and training junior modellers, sharing knowledge, and building team capability across GHDs Groundwater Modelling Team. Qualifications A Bachelors degree or higher in hydrogeology with at least 15 years of professional technical experience, including 10 years focused on numerical groundwater modelling. Demonstrated expertise in industryrecognised modelling techniques, numerical model development and advanced modelling software and programming tools (MODFLOW, FEFLOW, PEST utilities, Python, Fortran). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to explain complex modelling processes to nontechnical stakeholders. Proven ability to manage and lead complex projects, work independently as a technical lead, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
