The Centre provides a wide range of programs and activities, including Learn to Swim, Group Fitness, Recreational Swimming, Health and Fitness, Stadium and Squash hire. The main goal of the YMCA is to provide opportunities for all people to be more active, more often and help them reach their personal fitness goals. Our friendly team is highly qualified and has the experience to help you reach your training goals whatever they may be.About the RoleAs a Lifeguard, youll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors. Youll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe. Duties of the role include:Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool areaMaintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problemsEnsuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practicesCarrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipmentThis is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $33.77 + Superannuation + Y benefits.About YouWe are seeking motivated, organised and pro-active Lifeguards to come and join the team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users. Other required qualities are:Ability to make decisions while under pressureBeing able to manage conflicts with patrons and usersAbility to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environmentAbility to multitaskProviding excellent customer service for all members and guestsExperience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regardedEssential QualificationsAquatic Pool Lifeguard CertificateHLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary ResuscitationHLTAID011 Provide First AidYMCA Victoria (the Y) has robust policies and practicesto prevent harm to children and young people. The Y is committed toidentifying and removing potential risks and hazards. Hence, all our candidates are appropriately screened by checking professional references and a working with children check.
