Hercus Pty Ltd is currently seeking a Fitter & Turner who is experienced in the use of Conventional Lathes & Mills. Preferred applicant is someone who already has several years'' experience in a general engineering environment and will consider someone who may have recently retired or is looking for a career change. Minimum 3-5 years of experience with conventional lathes and mills is required for this position. Besides just working on lathes & mills, Hercus Pty Ltd would also like to train the appropriate applicant to learn all aspects of gear cutting. Requirements Trade qualification in "Certification III in Engineering" is preferred, however an applicant with relevant work experience is also asked to apply for this position. Correct operating methods when using a lathe and mill. Preference for making one or two off- parts or working with others when tooling is required. Able to comprehensively read and understand engineering drawings. Able to use measuring instruments (working with metric and imperial measurements). Be prompt, reliable, efficient & able to effectively work unsupervised. Have a professional attitude and a sound work ethic. Comply with our OHS standards. Hercus Pty Ltd is heavily involved in providing products to the mining, manufacturing, agriculture, food production, aquaculture and power generation sectors; which in turns will keep you extremely busy from week to week.
