Guided by your personal lived experience, you''ll offer empathy, understanding, and support in a shared space of compassion and mutual respect. About the opportunity Warmline Suicide Prevention Peer Workers provide a safe, validating environment where people reaching out feel heard, understood and supported. You''ll help individuals explore coping strategies, codevelop safety plans and navigate relevant local and online supports. You will support people during scheduled calls, building trusting relationships that foster hope, connection and a sense of hope. People seeking support can request a callback for help with their distress, concerns or worries. A Team Leader will match them with a suitable peer worker, who will make contact within 48 business hours to arrange a time for a conversation. Individuals may choose a single call or up to eight weekly calls for ongoing support. Shift Times MondayWednesday: 1:30pm7:00pm Saturday: 10:00am3:30pm (penalty rates apply) This is an officebased role located in Gympie. About you You bring personal lived experience of suicidality or suicide bereavement and a genuine desire to walk alongside others on their recovery journey. You offer a calm, nonjudgmental and compassionate presence and you''re comfortable sharing aspects of your lived experience when it may be helpful and supportive. Youll engage with people to discuss their distress or suicidality, explore coping tools, and cocreate safety plans that honour their strengths and goals. Youll be supported every step of the way through supervision, team connection and ongoing development opportunities.
