About Us The Q Train is Geelong''s own rail restaurant, offering a fine dining experience aboard carefully restored heritage carriages. Based in Drysdale, we''ve been delighting guests for eight years, have been featured on MasterChef Australia, Postcards, Skyward, SilverKris (to name a few), and have won many business, hospitality and tourism awards. Our fleet includes 16 passenger carriages, including a kitchen, dining carriages and power cars. We also operate and maintain four locomotives: two former TasRail Z class 2250hp diesel electric locomotives (English Electric 12CSVT prime mover) South African Railways 24 2-8-4 class steam locomotive that has been converted to oil firing About the Role Do you love working with your hands and solving practical challenges? Are you interested in maintaining a train and its heritage locomotives? If you have broad maintenance skills, including welding, metal fabrication, spray painting, basic electrical, even carpentry, and a passion for learning, this could be the role for you. We''re looking for a proactive, adaptable team player to join our maintenance crew. You''ll be handson with carriage and locomotive upkeep, assist with scheduled maintenance, and contribute to new projects. Experience in smallteam environments, procurement, recordkeeping, and basic administration is essential. You''ll also collaborate closely with our hospitality team to keep operations running smoothly. You will be actively involved in maintaining our fleet of restaurant train carriages and locomotives.
