Senior IoT Design Engineer at Bodd We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IoT Design Engineer to join the Bodd Hardware & Engineering Team. This role sits within the research/development and engineering environment, and applicants must have the right combination of programming and technical expertise to help us grow and develop new technologies. As part of our team, you will work with a Linux Core operating system, integrating device drivers and core and thirdparty libraries into bespoke SNAP packages that support novel and unique hardware systems. We are looking for someone with a solid programming background across a variety of languages and strong embedded or IoT experience. Seniority level: Not Applicable | Employment type: Fulltime | Job function: Design and Engineering Responsibilities Design and develop Ubuntu Core24 platform supporting the Bodd scanner application SNAP. Implement encryption and security features of the system, including secure boot, encrypted storage and TPM module. Design and implement theming throughout the boot and shutdown processes. Manage and develop firmware across the various subsystems of the edge device. Optimise the operating system''s use of hardware, such as drivers, configurations and process streamlining (e.g., startup sequence). Design and implement custom kernel. Manage and support product deployment, upgrade, maintenance, and monitoring mechanisms. Design and develop new functionalities for the Bodd scanner application. Build support systems between Bodd cloud platform and remote Bodd scanners. Design, build and maintain interfaces between AWS services and remote Bodd scanners. Qualifications Significant Ubuntu Linux experience (building and upgrading). Significant experience with Java (JNA/JNI/FX). Significant experience with C/C++. Solid Ubuntu Core building experience. Solid experience with building Linux environments (including snap development). Experience with software development in a Linux environment. Experience with Canonical SNAP store and Landscape.
