Executive Director, Energy Efficiency Target Reform Division Fixed Term - 2 years Victoria Close Date: January 12, 2026 23:59 AEDT Share: Lead on Victorias flagship emissions reduction and energy efficiency initiative An outstanding opportunity to drive long term sustainable reform The Position The Executive Director, Energy Efficiency Target Reform Division is accountable for leading the development and implementation of policy settings, regulatory and legislative reforms, initiatives and programs products that support electrification and deliver energy efficiency and savings to Victorian households and businesses. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is an exceptional opportunity to lead the strategic direction and delivery of the governments flagship emissions reduction and energy efficiency initiative the Victorian Energy Upgrades program (the largest energy efficiency certificate scheme in Australia). The role has three director level reports and leads a division of approximately forty-five highly professional and committed staff. Success requires developing key strategic relationships with key players in the energy and energy efficiency sector including business and industry, the programs regulator the Essential Services Commission, consumer groups, and other government stakeholders. This influential role calls for demonstrated executive leadership experience gained in a complex organisation with significant financial accountability. You will ideally come with deep knowledge of energy markets gained in government and/or relevant industry environments. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and committed to empowering Victorians to access clean and affordable energy. A tertiary degree/qualification in law, economics or commerce, engineering or public administration is also expected. The Organisation Solar Victoria operates one of the largest sustainability and renewable energy programs in the country, accelerating uptake of solar and electrification in Victorian homes. Solar Victoria has a well credentialed senior leadership team, with significant experience across the energy, sustainability and communications sectors. As part of DEECA, Solar Victoria works closely across the department, along with industry, regulators and community organisations. Solar Victorias headquarters is based at 65 Church Street Morwell as part of at the Latrobe Valley GovHub, which houses over 200 workers staff from several Victorian Public Service departments. Solar Victoria also has a Melbourne CBD office location at 150 Lonsdale Street.
