Independent Chair - Greater Gold Coast Consortium, Voluntary, QLD - Upper Coomera Established in 2020, theheadspace Greater Gold Coast headspace Consortiumacts as a committee''of youth services and stakeholders working together through a locally responsiveplatform to providecollaboration,strategic direction, partnershipopportunitiesand resources to enhance headspace Upper Coomera and Southport''s capacity to meet local community needs. About the role The Independent Chair is vital to the function and outcomes of the Consortium. Working in close consultation with the Service Manager, Lead Agency (Lives Lived Well) and the Youth Co Chair (when appointed), the role involves collaboratively planning, then independently chairing the quarterly Consortium Meetings. You will; Ensure focus on agreed strategic direction Advise and support the Service Manager Ensure any conflicts of interest in consortium meetings and amongst members are acknowledged and addressed Mentor Youth Co-Chair Support members of the Consortium to understand and carry out their roles, responsibilitiesand accountabilities; to build skills and capacities necessary for the Consortium Advisory Committee and to fulfil its obligations. Collaboratively (with the Centre Manager)set the agenda for and chair meetings ensuring business is conducted efficiently Model and demonstrateconstructive working relationships and information exchange within the consortium andacross regional services Continually build upon knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culture,localmulti-culturalcommunities, and the LGBTQIAP+ community,incorporating this understanding into consortium meetings and actions whenever possible Ensure that Youth Advisory Committee members and Family Representatives feel heard, and guests feel welcomed Establish a constructive working relationship with the lead agency key staff Ensure that the consortiumrepresents the four core streams of headspace and have representation that includes a mix of skills and experience Keep succession planning to theChair role front-of-mind toensuremeeting continuity. Youd be a great fit if you have Approximately 4 hours per month to volunteer/contribute, including chairing the quarterly meetings in person Independence from our centres and Lead Agency (Lives Lived Well) An interest in and commitment to the health and wellbeing of young people Connections and a high standing among stakeholder networks Skills to effectivelychairthe consortium advisory committee in its strategic,monitoringand stakeholder engagement activities An understanding of the principals of governance and meeting procedure Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences A willingness and ability to mentor and support the youth representative asa co-chair.
