The Opportunity: The Head of Communication & Corporate Affairs leads the development and execution of the companys communication strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enhancing the companys brand reputation. This role involves managing both internal and external communications, overseeing public relations activities, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. As the most senior communications position in our business, you will be working directly with the entire Executive team. The role sits in our Legal & Corporate Affairs team as an individual role managing the Communication and Corporate Affairs function (currently with no direct reports), reporting to the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary. Key Responsibilities: Strategic communication planning: Work with senior executives to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that support the companys vision, goals and objectives. ASX and Investor communications: Prepare and manage ASX announcements, annual report and investor relations presentations, working in conjunction with Investor Relations and Company Secretary. Provide communication leadership for required reporting such as Modern Slavery Report and ESG reporting. Public and Media Relations: Work with and direct communications agency to develop PR activity aligned to company goals. Foster and maintain strong relationships with media, industry influencers, and other external stakeholders. Provide advice and guidance to the companys spokespeople. Monitor media coverage and public perception, provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Corporate affairs: Oversee corporate affairs strategy and activities, including government relations, regulatory affairs, and community engagement. Support the executive team to develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. Transformation and Strategic Projects: Lead communications for transformation and strategic projects, ensuring clear and consistent messaging to all stakeholders. Internal communications: Develop and manage internal communication programs to ensure employees are informed and engaged including preparation of internal newsletters, announcements, and other communication materials to support the business priorities. Corporate branding: Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels. Manage corporate social media programs and posts (SPC Global LinkedIn account). Crisis communications: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate risks. Act as the primary point of contact during crisis situations, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders. Champion and advocate for the SPC Global Brand, Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values with internal and external stakeholders. Champion employee wellbeing and safety as well as group sustainability initiatives. The successful candidate will have: Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years experience in corporate communications, with at least five years in a leadership role. Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong media relations and public speaking abilities. Experience in crisis communication and brand management. Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment. Experience with ASX announcements and investor relations. Experience in managing external media agencies. Strategic Thinking.
