Job Description

Seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Advisor to join Swinburne University. This fixedterm opportunity (until Dec 2030) is Hawthorn based with an attractive salary, 17% superannuation, and flexible hybrid options. About the Role Working closely with the VicePresident, External Engagement (VPEE), the Senior Strategic Advisor will oversee delivery of strategic projects aligned with Swinburnes bold new strategy AdAstra_2030. The role requires leading transformational work across global impact and social licence programmes, ensuring outcomes are delivered within budget and by deadlines. The Advisor will advise the VPEE on a range of issues, manage internal and external executive relations, and coordinate across the five divisions within External Engagement: Future Students and Marketing, Global Engagement, Indigenous Engagement, Communications and Media, and Advancement. Key Accountabilities Lead and manage strategic projects, reviews and related activities directed by the VPEE; deliver highlevel analysis and advice on outcomes. Drive crossfunctional collaboration to integrate and align projects with the universitys broader objectives, identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies. Identify emerging trends, challenges and opportunities in higher education and the external environment; provide foresight and strategic recommendations for longterm planning. Undertake complex research and reviews concerning the portfolio and the university. Provide detailed advice, analysis, business cases, presentations and reports to the VPEE, Executive Group, ViceChancellors Advisory Group, Academic Senate and University Council when appropriate. Contribute to effective processes for managing complex issues, including industry collaboration, report writing and liaison. Qualifications A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and/or extensive equivalent professional experience and training within a large, complex organisation.
