About the role The Director, Data Analytics and Insights role sits within the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) reporting to the Chief Data Officer. CESE stands at the forefront of advancing excellence in evidence, insights, and policy to support data-driven decision making, so every student learns, grows and belongs in an equitable and outstanding education system. As Australias first hub for education data and evaluation across early childhood, schooling, training and higher education, CESE is dedicated to identifying what works best, to ultimately make a difference for all learners. The Director, Data Analytics and Insights is responsible for a team of around 50 staff leading and developing tactical plans and initiatives to develop in-depth data analytics and reports, dashboards and metric reporting prototype systems; as well as the management of data collection and responsible use of data within the Department to support School-based decision and policy making. Role accountabilities will include Oversee the departments data expertise in analytics, new prototype systems and dashboards, metric reporting and data collection to support evidence-based decision-making across the department and inform strategic priorities. Foster team capability and agility so that team members can be independent subject matters experts, and when needed outposted across the department, to conduct data analysis and business recommendations for other divisions. Implement strategic plans and optimise operational performance with appropriate controls and processes across the division to ensure the departments commitment to school improvement and other critical priorities to reflect Government, Cluster and department frameworks, policies and guidelines. About you You will possess exceptional leadership skills to drive and evaluate operational performance outcomes which contribute to the achievement of the divisions strategy.Your dynamism, drive, intellectual rigour, team leadership track-record and excellent communication and representational skills underpin your ability to harness collaborative relationships and achieve results.
