Role Overview The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving growth across national and selected international markets, including North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. This role will identify and secure new business opportunities, manage key client relationships, and act as a senior representative of the company in the global marketplace. Success in this position requires a handson commercial leader who can balance strategic business development with proactive client engagement and close collaboration with project management and technical teams. Key Responsibilities Business Growth & Market Development Develop and execute business development strategies across national and international markets. Identify and engage small- and mid-sized biotech and pharma companies developing small molecules, proteins, and peptides drug products. Monitor market trends, biotech pipelines, and CDMO opportunities to inform strategic growth initiatives. Position the CDMO as a trusted partner for endtoend CMC services, formulation development, CTM manufacturing, and clinical supply solutions. Client Engagement & Commercial Execution Manage the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, and deal closure. Grow and manage a portfolio of strategic clients. Represent the company at international and regional industry events inclusive and not limited to BioUS, BioEurope, APAC, AusBiotech and other biotech conferences. Tailor commercial messaging and proposals to highlight Pharmskys strengths in oral, sterile solution, nanoparticle, and ophthalmic technologies. Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Establish collaborations with CROs, distributors, academic institutions, and clinical trial networks. Build alliances with logistics and clinical supply partners to ensure reliable CTM distribution. Explore codevelopment or jointventure opportunities to expand service capabilities. Collaboration with Project Management & Technical Teams Work closely with Project Management to ensure smooth handover of projects from business development to execution. Provide clear communication of client requirements, timelines, commitments and deliverables. Collaborate with technical experts to ensure proposals are scientifically sound and operationally feasible. Support ongoing client communication during project execution, acting as a senior commercial point of contact. Set and achieve regional sales targets and KPIs, with pipeline development and forecast reporting. Provide market intelligence & strategic insights to leadership, guiding investment in new capabilities and service expansion. Act as the commercial lead, mentoring junior BD staff if required. Promote a clientfirst culture across business development, project management, technical and operation teams. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or Business (MBA desirable). 8+ years experience in business development, sales, or commercial leadership in CDMO, CRO, or pharma. Strong understanding of formulation development, CTM manufacturing, clinical supply and regulatory expectations. Proven track record of winning business with biotech/pharma clients in national and international markets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to navigate crosscultural business environments.
